Meet Mrs. Rogers
Mrs. Rogers: Teacher
My name is Heather Rogers and I am thrilled to be your child’s new Kindergarten teacher. This is my 26th year of teaching; I received my BS in Elementary Education from East Carolina University and am certified K-6 Elementary Education and K-12 Reading. I started my career with Durham Public Schools and moved to WCPSS in 1999.
My husband Chris and I have three children: Kathryn, a 2019 graduate from Drexel University, Joshua, an 11th grader at Green Hope High School, and Courtney, a 6th grader at West Cary. As a family we enjoy traveling, going to the beach, boating, and snow skiing.
I believe that young children come to school with a wide range of experiences. Each child needs to be wrapped in a nurturing environment flooded with rich vocabulary and plentiful information if they are to succeed in our technology savvy world. I hope that each family will take the opportunity to visit our classroom throughout the year as a volunteer. I am a firm believer that educating a child takes a team. That team starts with open communication between child, parent, and teacher. I look forward to a great year with my team members: parents, staff members, and of course the stars…GREAT STUDENTS!!!!!!
